Dialogue Across Divides “We have to learn to think in a new way.”
Pugwash seeks a world free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. We create opportunities for dialogue on the steps needed to achieve that end, focusing on areas where nuclear risks are present. Moving beyond rhetoric, we foster creative discussions on ways to increase the security of all sides in the affected regions.

Margaret King School Photo Gallery
Friends of the Margaret King School Society
During the school year1928-29, students attending the one-roomed school next door, watched as the Margaret King School was being built. Brick by brick they witnessed it taking shape. January 1930, their classes began in the new school. Can you imagine what these students must have experienced as they entered the new building for the first time? It may have been like entering a palace! (read the description below). The official opening took place July 1st, 1930, with about 600 people attending the special ceremonies. That day it was officially named The Margaret King School, honouring Mr. Eaton’s former teacher. [...more]
In 2013 the Executives of our Society proposed a Memorial Garden Project about the school. They have just received confirmation from the Municipality of approval for a grant this year to complete the project. A "Grand Opening" event was held in the fall of 2014.

Dining Next to a Nobel Peace Prize
Feast: An Edible Road Trip
We’ve been pleasantly surprised many times on this trip (like when we discovered tomato wine!), but probably never as much as when we arrived in Pugwash, Nova Scotia and stayed at Thinkers Lodge.
Read about their stay at Thinkers Lodge by Lindsay Anderson and Dana VanVeller, Vancouver-based writers, adventurers, wanderlusts, and co-creators of FEAST: An Edible Road Trip.
