Margaret King School playground; about 1934. Ada Tuttle is on the far right. This is the only photo (that I am aware exists) of the very large playground that was built at the Margaret King when it opened in 1930. I wonder if there are others out there. There were large and small swings,a teeter/totter, rings and a very tall merry-go-round (among other features - a baseball diamond, race track etc). The artist was a young Grade 5 boy attending the Margaret King School in 1956. I seem to have misplaced the original but...if you zoom in on this image, the writing on the blackboard can be visualized; apparently the arithmetic/grammar lessons for the day. The drawing is quite close to my recollection of what the Classroom actually looked like. We have in storage a number of the original framed prints that are illustrated on the walls in this drawing.
